Mysterious billboards emblazoned with “30” which popped up all over the world this week (it was also projected onto landmarks including the Tate Modern and the Brooklyn Bridge) are presumed to be teasing the title – Adele’s habit of naming her albums for the age she was when she began writing them is well known. On October 15, we’re finally getting a new Adele song.Įasy on Me, teased on social media on Tuesday via a 21-second clip featuring the singer chucking sheet music out of a minivan while baroque piano chords play (so not the “drum ’n’ bass record to spite you” once feared – or hoped for), will presumably soon be followed by her long-awaited, long-delayed, long-daydreamed fourth album. Well, it may have been touch-and-go there for a while – it’s been almost six years since the undisputed queen of British pop last released new music – but this week, she can rest assured that she’s once again on everyone’s minds. “Don’t forget me, I beg,” sings Adele on one of her most famous tracks.
